Day 203 + 204

This morning i got onto the elliptical for 35 mins.

Yesterday, i did leg kickbacks on the stairs,  5 on each side per step (19 or 20 steps...i keep forgetting to count).

One day at a time. One choice at a time.

Day 139

This morning I woke up late but I got on the elliptical for 35 minutes anyway. I'm really glad that I did because I didn't have much time to do it throughout the day. This is where my problems arise when I procrastinate in the morning. I guess as long as I can keep this in mind in the morning, I should be ok...but because I just mentioned it, I'm doomed for failure lol.

One day at a time. One choice at a time.

Day 108

Today was a work day, but I made a conscious decision to exercise, while at work. I snacked all day long and instead of eating lunch, I walked the entire time, around the perimeter of the hospital. I think I gave myself blisters, cause these boots sure weren't made for walking LOL. It was nice to get outside especially since the weather isn't scorching yet. I got in over 10k steps at lunch, and periodically walking in place.

All in all, it was a good day for a work day :).

Day 243 (day 5 / week 35)

It's funny how we can have intentions to do things, and then they kind of just go away throughout the day.

I procrastinated a lot today. I used my HRM as an excuse for the first 2 hours, but I think I fixed the problem (replaced the batteries). We'll see. It was too hot to do anything after 9am and I think I am getting bored with exercise so I have to change it up somehow, because I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. It's like it's been said: This is life, it's not a dress rehearsal. I was not looking forward to being kooked up in the house doing an exercise video so I needed to find another way to exercise. Exercise is awesome, because it's everywhere. I like the idea of cleaning for exercise, because you kill two birds with one stone, but everything is as clean as it's going to get...except for the carpet...

So I scrubbed the carpet today for exercise. I'll make it a (non) rest day because The Monkey Boy kindly tried to help, but I didn't like the thought of him sticking his hand in the bucket that had my concoction that I found on the internet, to clean carpets (some hot water and a little pine sol--which worked great!). I even have a grody picture for you.

Can you tell which side was cleaned (the left)?

lol. totally gross I know, and more than I want to expose of myself, but in my defense, the carpets were like this when we moved in. You can tell that I spot treated certain areas now. I think I bit off a bigger piece than I can chew, because it looks like I have to scrub the ENTIRE carpet now, so that it all matches. Maybe this weekend, when I am scrounging for minutes, trying to make up for the workdays, I will get some more scrubbing done.

Anyway, I scrubbed for 35 minutes and probably didn't burn many calories (I don't know how many, I didn't use my HRM this time).

Tomorrow is the 1st of the month, and so I should be doing my measurements and monthly picture, but alas, I am not going to. It's getting late in the evening now, and I have to work for the next 3 days (and my hubby doesn't want to help me right now)...so, I will be posting this info on Friday, instead. So check back then to see my progress for the month :). I have been having issues with my computer, so hopefully the douchiness goes away before then as well (so frustrating!).

Hope you all have a great evening!

Make it count!

Day 218 (day 1 / week 32)

Thank you so much for all of your feedback with my blog! This weekend I will try to change a few things to see if I can fix any of the problems you guys are having. I'll let you know when I am done updating, and you can tell me if you are still having issues.

Today I feel MUCH better. Yesterday was a "high" day on my calorie cycle, and I just felt so much better when I woke up. I went out and walked early this morning, had a good walking day and came home and did some summer cleaning (just like spring cleaning). It was definitely the lack of calories, although it wasn't anything I was doing purposely. I really have to make an effort to eat as much food as I am supposed to to keep up with my exercise. It stinks to say that more often than not, I probably wouldn't eat much, if I didn't make that effort. I am happy right around the 100-1300 mark, and that's just not enough for the amount of exercise that I do daily, but I don't want to cut back on my exercising (huge mental benefits as well as the physical!) so I just have to suck it up and eat more.

I walked 2 miles in 35 minutes (430 calories). I have been meaning to share this with you, but I keep forgetting. My theme song for walking (the song that I listen to on repeat because it is the perfect song for me with timing and some of the lyrics and just attitude) is You Can Do It by No Doubt, on their Tragic Kingdom album (#11). I LOVE this song. I zone out sometimes and when I think "eh I don't want to do this anymore" and I come back out of the zone, I get to hear Gwen singing, "you can do it" and it's just awesome! Very motivating song for me. Find motivating songs and incorporate that into your exercise routines. I bet that will give you the extra boost you need to push a little farther if you need it. I want to compile a mixed CD (remember mixed tapes? lol) and make that a walking CD...but my CD ROM doesn't work anymore, so it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Anyway, after I got home I did my cleaning and cleaned for 150 minutes and burned 837 calories. Sweet. I got a lot done, and now I just feel relaxed and happy. The Monkey Boy is down for a nap and everything is clean...gotta love that.

The Monkey Boy and I got to see my niece today and she is just growing up so fast. I think she is 6 now. She such a beautiful little princess and she adores my son, as much as he adores her (you should see them together...they are so cute). Hopefully we will see her tomorrow again before she goes back to Cali, so I can take a picture of them (I forgot today).

Tomorrow is Friday and it's supposed to be in the mid 90's here. SO happy about that. That means I can take longer walks! I am nervous because my first day of work is Monday. I hope everything goes smoothly!

See you guys tomorrow! Make today count! *sings* You can do it...you can do it...

I can do this. I am a star.

day 175 (day 7 / week 25)

I want to start off and thank everyone for your kind words and encouragement. You all had such encouraging things to say and you all are right.

Yesterday was a bad day for me so I threw all my chips on the table to see what I had, and today I am going to make a new start with a different mentality (hopefully it will stick).

You guys are right, going into this I didn't have any number but 365 in mind. Now that it's been 6 months, yes I have lost weight and inches, and yes I can do things I couldn't before, but I am still obese, and people still see me that way. You wouldn't know by looking at me that I stay within a set caloric range and exercise daily. I feel like a thin person trapped inside of a huge disgusting body. People that know me don't even think I have stuck with exercising because I am still fat. My husband knows, because he is there. My own mother that I see on a weekly basis is even rude about it (I know I need to give her a word or 2, but it's hard to say something to her--she's my mom!). I could jog laps around every single one of these people that judge me, but no one knows this but me. Everyone (including myself) expects me to be skinny by now. I want to cry out that I am healthy, or get a custom made shirt to prove it (lol), but I won't ever be truly healthy until I am no longer obese and overweight. I need to get over this. You guys are right, if I am in this for the long haul, it needs to be about the healthy lifestyle first, and weight loss second. BUT (and this is a big butt...hehehe) the sad truth is that I need to lose weight in order to get there. I am obese. The only way this will change is if I lose weight. I never wanted this to be about losing weight, but in order to reach the ultimate goal of being healthy, I HAVE to.

The other day when I did the calorie calculation, I nonchalantly mentioned my goal weight--135, but it could have been easily overlooked (I meant for it to be that way). I even went as far as to say that I wanted to reach this by Jan 1, 2010, which is a very healthy goal if I lose 2 lbs a week (this is obviously not happening). To do the calculation you need to have a goal weight in mind, so I picked the highest weight in the recommended range (medical) for my height--102-135. Once I reach 135, anything is possible from there. On my sparkpage, I have weight goals written as well:

1) 200 lbs (done)
2) 180 lbs (although lately 190 has been a big goal)
3) 150 lbs
4) 135 lbs

...heck! Anything is possible NOW I just need to stop having wavering faith and just keep high faith that I can do this, because He gives me the strength to!

Ellie is right. It's not as simple as calories in and calories out. I say that a lot, and I am a douche. It has everything to do with quality of food. I need to work on this. Right now I just fit inside of a number, but if I want chips, I make room in my number bank so that I can have chips. I do this with ice cream too (sugar free, which my hubby really hates that I eat lmao) I still fit in the number. If I wanted to eat chips or ice cream all day long and still fit in my range, that would not be good. I don't do that, because I have learned (about myself) that when I do eat junk, it makes me hungrier and crave more junk (another danger zone). I do need to work on quality though. Better quality. This is a habit I want to stick around forever.

I also need to start watching salt. This is so easy to lose track of! Did you know that a recommended serving of salt is 1 teaspoon a day? I always knew salt wasn't great for you but I honestly thought it was a typo or a spoken mistake when I heard 1 tsp for the first time. I thought "maybe they mean 1 Tablespoon." WOW (not the world of warcraft wow either...lol). Watching Rachael Ray and all of the food network stars at play, blows my mind--they throw salt in their creations like it's nothing! I don't eat this much salt but I bet it's more than 1 tsp a day.

Anyway enough of that. I have a lot to work on and I feel so blessed that you guys are here to support me on my strongest and weakest days. You guys are my stars in a dark sky!

Today I woke up early, did my no computer thing *cry* and man I was SO sore! The standing oblique crunches that I did the other day kicked me hard. Yesterday the windmill lunge things made the lung/knee things from my first Quickfire Challenge kick in again. Today I am feeling everything...which is good. It means my body isn't used to this and it will adapt! Yaay!!! The quickfire for today was to do 100 total (in groups of 20-25) straight leg tricep dips on a chair--which I can't do yet, so I opted to do the 2nd--wall push ups. These feel harmless, but I'm sure I will feel them tomorrow. 5 sets of 20 or 4 of 25 (just get to 100 anyway you can).

Before this, I turned on the 30 day shred (level 1 day 24). I was way too sore to do that. I got about 10 minutes in and had to turn it off. I felt so stiff and could barely move the way she wanted us to. Then put on Turbo Jam's Turbo Sculpt and could only get through 5 mins of that, so I put on Ab Jam and did the 20 minutes. Turbo Jam made me feel a little better because a lot of the movements are very long and stretchy. 35 minutes in all, but I was feeling really sore. I do feel better now (not so stiff and sore), and want to go try to do the 30 day shred again. Hopefully the Monkey Boy will go down so that I can try again. I am calling today a (non)rest day regardless, just because being so sore, I need to take it easy. If I don't get back to it today, I am not going to beat myself up because I don't want to make things worse for tomorrow!

Thank you again for your support and help! I don't have the words to describe how amazing it feels to have someone help you up when you fall. It's just such a blessing!

Make today count! I am because you guys are helping me to! Every step of the way!

I can do this. I am a star!

day 137 (day 4 / week 20)

Yaay! I went jogging again today! I'm a joggin' fool! Yesterday we drove my route and it is 2 miles exactly in the car (plus some change on foot). Woo hoo! 2 miles!! (not 1 block lol *happy dance*). As soon as I stepped foot into my driveway, I did a little gardening, since I was there, and since it's not 100F+ yet (it's supposed to get hot today). I jogged/walked for 35 minutes and played in dirt for 25 minutes. I planted some bright pink vincas and yellow, pink and red celosias (just like the picture!) :). So purty!

Yesterday I started out slowly as a few of you suggested to prevent injuries, and today I tried to work a little harder. I don't want to push myself too hard (which is easy to do for me), because I don't want to keep myself from being able to exercise another day (as you guys also suggested). My heartrate monitor is inaccurate and totally douchy, I can't rely on that, so I went by my time. I know my distance is constant. Yesterday I did 2 miles in 45 minutes, jogging and walking. I could only jog for 30 seconds (on average) at a time. Today I was able to jog for 1-2 minutes at a time and took 10 minutes off of my total time! Yaay!

I really have to focus on my stride, and making sure that my body weight is balanced and centered, so that I don't hurt my knees and ankles (or look like Pheobe from Friends running lol). A long time ago when I first started running, my running partner told me to make sure to place my feet directly underneath me when I run, to prevent injury and so I did that too (it used to help me back in the day). When I wasn't focusing on these things, I felt wobbly (like Pheobe) and felt like my left ankle and knee hurt a little. I tried to focus on my leg muscles pushing also. *shrugs*

Fun story...when I was gardening, my hubby kept messing with the hose (men need to feel like they are useful outside--well mine does...j/k *wink*) and he broke the nozzle on the hose and BLASTED me with water lol (accidentally). It was quite funny but he was annoyed that his new nozzle broke (his fault for messing with it! lol). It felt good, I was hot :).

Hope you all have a great day! I am going to a 3 year old's birthday party! We bought him a bath blizzard, because he likes a few bubbles in his bath. Make today count!

day 113 (day 1 / week 17)

Today is starting off extremely busy so I have to make this short. I have to go take a shower and get ready, then get the baby doll up, dressed and fed and get in the car by 8:30am. Then we have to go to Henderson for a WIC appointment, which my hubby estimates will take about an hour with traffic. I have never been there before so I really hope I am not late.

Today I did Cardio Party, like the schedule told me to, but I didn't finish--I did only 35 minutes (of 43 so that's not bad). I just have to get going and take a shower. I have also had 32oz of water so far today lol.

During Logan's nap, I am going to do my Love Handler--I finally found the DVD that came with it. Logan stashed it in a shoe box that I found yesterday lol.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Day 51 (day 2 / week 8)

Today I did The Biggest Loser Workout plan #3. Boy, the whole plan numbers thing is confusing (if you can't tell by yesterday's post). Plan #3 works fine on my DVD, so I wont have to worry about plan #2 and #4 (this is what I should have said yesterday) for another 3 weeks (I do plan 1 and 3 for 3 weeks not plan 2).

Plan #3 is strength and sculpt. I was breathing pretty heavily. I guess it could be considered a type of circuit training, because of how fast he moves from one muscle group to the other. When I did this months ago, it was a little difficult with my 5# weights, but Slim in 6 really helped to prepare me for this, which is great. I can totally handle my hand weights now, and they aren't too heavy. I miss the daily ab work with Debbie, but am interested to see how this "shock" from changing to a totally different type of workout routine, will change my body. Part of me thinks that I will see better results with Slim in 6 than with the Biggest Loser Workout, but only time will tell. We'll find out in 6 weeks!

I can't believe it's almost the start of month 3! Can you believe it?? It's almost 3 months in! yaay!

I hope everyone has a happy Friday and a super workout!
