This morning I got on to the elliptical trainer for 53 minutes and watch The Walking Dead.

Life is about choices. I make bad choices and I need God's help. I created this blog to keep myself accountable in my 365 day journey to exercise everyday in 2016 (successfully completed in 2009!) I can do all things in Christ who gives me strength!

I have to tell you that all day today, while at work, I was looking forward to coming home to exercise. Today is the 30t day of the 30 day challenge that I have been doing! I was excited to see how it would end.
I knew I would receive a trophy for completing the challenge, but I didn't know if there would be fireworks or something (lol--Wii Fit would do something like that). There wasn't. It was just Bob Greene congratulating me for completing the challenge. He flips his hair around, his mouth has A LOT of expression in it and his hands are extremely animated when he talks and that's all I can really focus on. LOL. Yes, I'm one of those. I do that when we watch the news and it probably drives my hubby crazy, cause I always have to point something out.
So I got a new trophy (for completing the challenge) and it was nice and shiny. I love me some shiny. It should have been pink though. lol. I bought this game in 2009 when I did my first 365 days of exercise, and I don't think I have ever completed the "30 Day Challenge" in one shot, so this is a yahoo moment (it's about time!). I really thought I did this in 30 days or less but it I didn't get that trophy, so I will have to try again for it in the coming months. Maybe if I do it tomorrow, I will get it. We'll see.
So I am excited to say that I have completed my first medium sized goal in 2011--to complete the 30 day challenge on EA Sports Active :). Yaay! 1 month down, 11 to go!
It was 14 minutes and I burned 94 calories.
I also wore my pedometer to work (the one that sleeps on the job) and it said that I did 5301 steps in 52:43 minutes.
I have to work again tomorrow so I'll be back in the evening.
Make it count! This year is already flying by pretty fast already. Can you believe it's almost February?? Soon it will be April and then it will be July again! I can't believe how fast time goes by.
Take care.

We got the internet up and running again, but it's going to be a quick post because I have to get up early again for a quick meeting (what a waste of a day off).
Today I played with the Wii again. I played The Biggest Loser (43 minutes including cool down and warm up) and today focused on legs I think. I am doing the 4 week program, and it tells me my goal is to lose 12 lbs, but we will see. I've never been able to lose that much during any given month, but the difference this time is that I am calculating calories based off of METs (burns calories slower) and not off of my HRM (burns them faster). We'll see. It'll be fun to see what the results are.
I also did 10 minutes with Wii Fit Plus, playing a balancing juggling game 2-3 or so times and a basic step class 3 times. Exercising is so much more fun when it is a game. The Biggest Loser Wii Game is not like a game, so the time drags. Wow does it drag.
I guess I flaked out on the 30DS. lol. I'll pick it up again before the year is over :).
Hope you guys had a great night! Have a great day tomorrow. Make it count!

Today I did about 50 minutes of exercising that included a 2 mile power walk and circuit training with my strength training, to keep my HR elevated.
I came to the conclusion today, after pretty much power walking my 2 mile route, that I don't really jog any faster than I walk lol. I can jog/walk 2 miles in 30 minutes, and I power walked pretty much the entire thing today in 33 minutes. lol! I feel like I need to be really careful with my problem foot/ankle (the left one) because it has been swelling a lot lately--even when I'm not exercising, and it stays swollen all throughout the day, even if I keep it elevated. I can't remember, honestly, if it's always been this way and I just haven't noticed it until now, or if it's a new thing. Maybe my left ankle just has more fat on it than my right...lol (that's not unheard of!). It doesn't hurt, so that's a good thing. I think I am going to slow things down a notch...don't get me wrong, I love this new liberating feeling and goal for jogging, but I think it would be best for my physical health if I just power walked, instead of trying to jog all the time--at least until my ankle stops swelling on a regular basis. I will see how things go in the next week, and see if anything changes. I'm fine with this, seeing that I walk just as fast as I jog (lol that is so funny to me!) and it feels A LOT better on my feet/ankles when I just walk, instead of jogging. I have the rest of my life to jog! No hurry :).
Today this is what I did for my strength training:
Crunches with a twist -- 2 sets / 15 reps
Back extension -- 2 sets / 15 reps
One-arm dumbbell rows -- 2 sets / 15 reps
seated dumbbell concentration curls -- 2 sets / 15 reps
lying adduction -- 2 sets / 15 reps
standing adduction -- 2 sets / 15 reps
overhead tricep extension -- 2 sets / 15 reps (manually entered, so no link for this one)
Ok well I'm off to eat some breakfast and start the day! I hope you all have a great Monday, if you are off or not. Make it count! ;)

I am definitely getting sick again :(. I wonder if it may be from over training--I read somewhere that getting sick and being tired a lot could be a sign (my FIL was also recently sick, so it could be his fault too lol muahaha). Anyway with that in mind, I tried to take it easy today--but didn't, but it wasn't my fault lol. My intentions were good. I swear.A bad rake + a yard with a ton of pine needles/dead grass = awesome workout (the baking sun probably helps too). lol. I went out there at 11:07 am and came back in at 12noon (53 minutes of raking isn't bad stuff!).
I had no idea that I would have worked that hard. The only thing I can compare it to is splitting wood--it felt a lot like that. I wore gardening gloves, but I still got blisters in between the webbing of my thumb and index fingers--on both hands. They really sting but I'll get over it :).
Although I'm getting sick, I'd like to believe that hard work is good for a cold. Feed a fever, work a cold. lol. wait. that's how I probably got into this mess to begin with! Oh well, I'll take it easy for the rest of the day. We were considering going over to the pound to get a dog, but then my mother kindly (not so much) pointed out all of the monthly expenses that goes into having a dog, and the lack of independence we will have bla-bla-bla, and that we won't be able to afford it so, that idea is ixnayed.
Hope you all have a great Sunday! See you all tomorrow :)
