Day 206 + 207

Last night after work i was still pretty sore from the lunges the night before so I tried to even out the leg soreness (does this only sound crazy to me??lol). I did 3 sets of 15 vertical leg abductors.

Two weeks ago a friend from work and I were chatting about how much we both love exercise videos that are dancy/cheesy fun and games like Dance Dance Revolution and  she told me to try something called Rockin' Body. I found it on ebay for $20 and didn't realize it was beachbody until i had them in my grubby little hands.

I started it this morning despite my sore legs. It even came with a calendar and all the paperwork so I don't even have to use my brain! Lol.

This morning's workout was called Mark, Move & Groove. It was only 15 minutes long and I have to say I was sweating after it. That's exactly what my friend at work said happens with her! Nice to know that I'm on the right page this time LOL.

Alright going to go dye my roots. I'm thinking I might get on the elliptical while I let it process so I'll update this if I do.

Day 201 + 202

Both yesterday and today I did my exercise in the AM.

Yesterday i did the 10 Minute Trainer, cardio and i felt like my ankles were going to break. They hurt most of the day, as well as my sides and core muscles. Whooped my butt.

This morning i started to do 10 Minute Trainer, total body but got a phone call from a distressed friend, so i just got onto the elliptical for 15 mins while i listened.

That's it.

Day 194, 195 +196

I'm definitely feeling a lack of motivation for blogging these days. I guess i just don't feel like talking about anything in particular and I'm tired when i do get around to doing it.

I do have to say that i find it quite hilarious that for 8 years Michelle Obama has been trying to get people outside moving around and Nintendo did it like overnight with this whole Pokémon Go thing. Lol!

Anyway here's my passed 3 days.

Tonight i got onto the elliptical for 15 minutes.

Yesterday I did foward leg lifts until my legs felt like giant sandbags.

The night before i did leg abductors also until they felt like sand bags.

My oldest son started swimming in a local swim club recently, 3 days a week for an hour,  and i had the brilliant idea today that maybe i should swim laps during that time also. They have available lanes for anyone wanting to do so. I'm really anxious thinking about it,  having to go in public with my bathing suit on...but everything these days makes me anxious so i just need to suck it up and do it. Oye!

Day 150

Today was an awful, awful day. I was anxious coming into work today because I feel like they were setting me up for failure and boy did they. I would have quit and walked out but I guess that would be considered patient abandonment and I'd probably have a pretty hard time trying to find another job in this industry if I left that way.it was a really stressful and anxiety filed day and knowing that I'm going to be forced to do this again soon makes me really anxious. It's not safe or a healthy work environment.

I woke up early this morning (anxiety) and just got on the elliptical. I did 15 minutes and then got ready for work. Praise God that I'm off tomorrow.  I wish it was possible to find a weekend only, part time 12 hour position before next weekend bc I REALLY don't want to go back. Ever.

Day 149

This morning I got on to the elliptical trainer for 15 minutes before work and I'm glad that I did. I honestly didn't think I was going to wake up earlier and I definitely wasn't trying to. It just happened that way LOL

I have a big day tomorrow at work and it's causing me a lot of anxiety. I'm hoping that I can fall asleep and sleep throughout the night without  waking up multiple times. If I wake up early like today, and I feel energized, I'll get onto the elliptical, but we'll see. I already feel like I'm being set up for failure for tomorrow at work so I don't want to set myself up for failure with this.

Hopefully it works out for the best.

Day 146

I am having a hard time getting a handle on my procrastination. This morning Little Brother crawled into our bed around 4 or 5, and when my alarm went off to exercise, I was just too tired. I ended up waking up like 20 mins later anyway bc he was pressed right up against my back. That would have still been early enough to exercise but i chose to just lay there and watch him sleep. He's so tiny still and I hope it doesn't pass me by. I realize that's what I end up doing in the mornings when he comes into our room at night. The other mornings I have no excuse lol.

I asked him to stay in his room tonight and he said, "oh tay." We'll see.

Anyway I got onto the elliptical tonight while hubby put him to sleep. I was able to get 15 mins in. Not bad, but definitely not my best. It's a constant struggle and with the weight loss slowing down, there is definitely a lack of motivation. Summer is coming up and I can't wait to not have to leave the house early. Yaay! Let the countdown begin! Eight days until there's no school!

Day 101

I can't believe that I forgot to blog for 2 days! On this day Sunday, was a work day, so I got onto the elliptical trainer after work for 15 minutes.

Day 68

I'm having a really hard time with Blogger's app and my computer runs like mud. Everytime I type a post, Blogger deletes it and I have to retype or copy/paste it 5-6 times to publish something. Pictures work so I'll be using screen shots for now.

I got on the elliptical for 15 mins tonight.  Gotta start waking up earlier again...

Day 7

Well it's been 1 full week and I only have 51 more to go.

This morning I did 15 mins on the elliptical with intention to get back on tonight. Ya, didn't happen. Between then and now, something had time to incubate and now I feel icky, cold, achy and my throat hurts. Took some allegra and singulair and I'm off to bed.

Day 41

I am so tired of blogging and I am not even 45 days into it! I am able to find the motivation to exercise (going to Disneyland again in May and want a good "after" picture to compare w/ last year's pic), but the blogging part is coming a little harder.

Today I didn't do much. I walked only a mile in 15 minutes. I guess it's a (non)rest day.

Day 25

Today I had to go to work so I couldn't exercise until after I got home. I did EA Sports Active (1) again, and this time it had me do 15 minutes and burn 106 calories.

I was able to obtain my first set of lab work to compare with what I have now, and my numbers are definitely looking better. I'll post more details on my day off, but there is a difference of 24lbs to begin with, so that's a nice drop in number.

I'll be back tomorrow night after work again. This is my last week of my 30 day Challenge on EA Sports Active, so that's exciting to see a goal come to an end.

Have a good night!

Day 223 (day 6 / week 32)

I am so proud of myself today! I got up uber early to exercise and did it! I was out of the house around 4:45am and I walked up and down my street shadow boxing with my sculpting gloves on and with 2 lb weights (I think for a total of 3-4 lbs or so). I really liked walking up and down the street. I have no idea how far it was, but I will map it later tonight to find out (I'm pretty curious although it probably isn't very far).

I started out doing alternate overhead shoulder presses, then that turned into alternate bicep curls, and then I did the cross, hook, undercut variation from Turbo Jam that Chalene loves for us to do so much (I love them too).

It feels so great. I feel awake, I have energy and I am happy because I got in 25 minutes of exercise, burning 338 calories, before 5:15 am. Sweet! God blessed me with a good night sleep (thank you Lord!) and with the motivation to do it.

What better than to start your day off with a blessing :). I should bless you guys with my walk and take a picture of the view I have of some of the casinos from our street...really beautiful!

Have a good day everyone! If I do more when I get home (which I plan to) I will post it here! Off to get ready for work!

UPDATE: Not sure what it's worth, but I parked in the farthest place I could find today and walked about a 1/2 mile just to and from my car today (over 1000 steps and yes, I actually counted them! lol). Not much, but it's something and the best way I could find to incorporate exercise into my day. It took me about 15 minutes total (in a dress and heels). It's 8:30 pm and I am bushed, so I am calling it a night so I can get up early again to exercise. I don't have to be in as early (1/2 hr later than today), but I am going to wake up at 4:30am again, just so that I can exercise longer. I still don't know how far I walked this morning. Maybe I will figure it out tomorrow.

I can do this. I am a star.

Day 194 (day 5 / week 28)

Today I was very productive. I wanted to walk, but the Monkey Boy didn't, so I just did some videos at home, and did my Quickfire Challenges (QFC) for today.

I pulled out an oldie but goodie and did Turbo Jam's Cardio Party and Ab Jam, back to back (65 minutes, 805 calories). I forgot how much fun Turbo Jam is! My legs are still a little sore today, but doing TJ felt like I was stretching my legs more than hurting them. It felt great! All of the kicks and stuff, PLUS I wore my HRM for the first time with it (I think) so I was able to see that it actually was a pretty good workout.

I felt like I had a lot of energy, and when the "turbo" segment came around, I still had energy to go! I felt so blessed when I finished, like God's joy and energy was just radiating from me. If my heart could cry, it would have (tears of joy, of course!).

After TJ I ate something and moved onto the 2 QFCs for today. I did them both back to back, and it took me 15 minutes total to complete them (129 calories). The first is a Side Lunge with Windmill Arms, which I did as fast as I possibly could (for the sake of cardio and burning calories). This also felt like a stretch to my legs, which felt great. The second was seated leg extensions again (no weight), which I could do pretty easily. I did these the other day, and I felt like I needed that rest after my set (25 i think). Today I did 2 sets of 50, of both of those exercises (100 total of each) and felt like I could do more. Maybe I will, if I find myself starting to fall asleep (I swear I can't not sit on the couch, or lie on my back w/out falling asleep).

I have a lot of energy now and it feels great, considering this morning I was tired, cranky and didn't want to exercise. It's funny how getting up and doing something totally changed my moral. If I didn't do something, I probably would have had a blah day, AND I wouldn't have felt God's strength and joy run through me (so awesome!). I am on Stage 3 of the lifestyle changes that Sparkpeople help us work through, and one of the things I had to do was find an inspriational/motivating quote, and I always think of it--especially today. You guys have heard me say this before, "I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who gives me strength." It's my favorite bible scriputre (Philippians 4:13) and my inspriational quote. Man, just think of all of the possibilities! It gets me pumped and gives me energy.

Find a motivational and/or inspirational quote and apply it to your lives everyday. Print it out and put it somewhere that you can see it and read it everyday. I'm telling you, faith like this with something that motivates you can move mountains! It will surely help you to make each and everyday count!

I can do this. I am a star. SO ARE YOU!

day 183 (day 1 / week 27)

Man these past few weeks have flown by quickly. I am really glad that I have taken advantage of this time at home to exercise and get healthy again. Such a blessing! This must be what God wants for me right now, because He has made it really easy for me to do this (in regards to time and such).

Today they were predicting for rain. They are usually wrong here but sure enough, it did! I woke up early and wanted to be out of the house early to beat the heat, but when I saw that it was overcast I relaxed a little and checked the weather report. Scattered showers throughout the day and T-Storms later in the evening--the high only being 98! Woo hoo!

I opened the door and went outside to use my sniffer to see if I smelled rain (Your nose knows, ya know?) and nada. Went in, packed the stroller, got ready and it sure enough... it started sprinkling. I dilly dallied a little (when it sprinkles it doesn't last long usually) and about 10 minutes later, it stopped. I got the Monkey Boy up, put him in the stroller and started walking. I walked a different route, because I was trying to stay away from the dark sky. If I had gone my normal route, I probably would have been rained on, but I was fine.

I only walked 3.3 miles (felt longer) and did it in 62 minutes. My HR monitor said that I burned 903 calories and stayed in my zone for 38 minutes (133-157). I also started to do "Ab Sculpt" from The Firm series that I have, but got 15 mins into it, before the distractions started, so I gave up for the day. The video is GOOD though. I could feel my ab muscles almost immediately after starting this video.

I took some more pretty pictures too...of the walk, not me exercising--that's not pretty, let me tell you! lol.

Today I did the other 1/2 (more like 1/4) of the city block, that I usually don't do, so I thought I would do something fun today, and show you on the map, where I took the pictures. Fun, right? They are numbered and so are the pictures below :).

1) When I walk the full city block (or this 1/4 of the block) I pass this funny tree. It grows these pink feather looking flowers! So pretty. They were a little wilted here, but still pretty. Wasn't able to get a pic of the full tree because my phone's camera isn't good enough. It looks really neat with all of these pink feathers in it.

2) This is the park that has the water spouts that I take my son to. It's only about a mile away, so it's an easy walk.

3) You can see in this picture how overcast it is here today. The #3 is a little off on the map (my bad--it starts almost right after #2) but here is a picture of the little "trail" (pssht) that I get to walk on, when I go this way. It's not directly next to the street, so that's a good thing and nice, but stops, which stinks because there are CRAZY drivers on Flamingo (lots of accidents). Where the #3 is on the map, is where the trail ends unfortunately lol. Back to the sidewalk for me! (this is the reason why I don't like to walk all the way down Flamingo to Rainbow--CRAZY drivers and lots of accidents on this road).

4) Right as I was turning onto the street to get to my neighborhood, I saw this HUGE sunflower peeking up over this wall and so I took a picture of it...I got that person's backyard in the picture too lol (thank goodness there were no sunbathers present!).

I hope you all have a great weekend, for those of you that have a long one :). If you're going to be outside, make it count and skip around! Sounds funny, but it's great exercise and so fun! Especially if you are around kids! They will wonder what the heck you are doing and probably join in (if they are the cool kind of kid--none of that, "Mom! You're embarrassing me!" junk lol).

I dare you. *wink*

I can do this. I am a star.

day 144 (day 4 / week 21)

Today I feel *blah.* I feel completely and totally lazy, and I feel like I could sleep all day, if my hubby and son would let me lol. The funny part of this is that I got in my 8 hours of sleep last night.

I might have overdone it yesterday, with the 3 miles and then mowing the lawn with that crapola push mower--too much time in the sun really conks me out, my ankle is a little sore and my hands hurt from the mower (darn blisters). I've always had allergies to the sun, so this just one of those many perks living in Vegas (sometimes I even get hives!).

Today I did close to 45 minutes of exercise, but I am calling this a (non) rest day, because it was very low intensity. I did Slim & 6pack, Slim & Limber (both from Slim in 6) and Ab Jam from Turbo Jam.

I'm glad I did something. Something is better than nothing.

Today my hubby wants to go to Bonnie Springs, an old Wild West town (replica of the 1880's) that has a petting zoo, and stuff that Logan will really enjoy, but we'll see. These things can get expensive when you factor in food, the entrance and stuff. Cute idea though! :). We just want to get out of the house--but it's too hot to go outside! (lolol)

Have a marvelous Sunday! Make it count!

I can do this. I am a star.

day 139 (day 6 / week 20)

I am so proud of myself! I woke up at 6am and had eaten some yogurt, drank some water, gotten dressed and was ready to go jogging by 6:30, so that I could make sure that I was home before my hubby left for work at 7:15.

I stretched outside a little bit and left my driveway at 6:46am. I jogged for 1 minute, and walked for 1 minute, keeping my heart rate between 150-160 (walking) and 160-170 (jogging). I stepped foot back into my driveway at 7:16am, so I did 2-15 minute miles!

I tried to be mindful of my form, although I still haven't been able to get my grubby hands on a ChiRunning video yet. I've just seen some snip-its from youtube, but it's hard I think without someone helping me. I'll get it down soon enough. When I felt like I wasn't pain free, I would stop and just walk--luckily enough, I felt good today! There weren't any barking ants following me this time either, or the last time I jogged, but lemme tell ya, they were everywhere the first day though...(lol).

When I got home I stretched really well. I put on my 15 minute stretching video, Slim & Limber (Slim in 6) and it felt GREAT. After I stretched I grabbed my hand weights and did 2 sets of 2o arm curls, 2 set of 20 over head press, and 2 set of 20 one-arm dumbbell rows (back/shoulder and bicep day) with my 5# hand weights.

It feels like a real sense of accomplishment to try to do this. Knowing that someday in the next few months, I will be able to run this whole thing, really motivates me! Heck, 5 months ago I couldn't do a jumping jack or jog in place. Today I jogged for at least 15 minutes--outside, in public, no less!

My MIL really blessed me by buying me these shoes for mother's day also. They have really helped me to step up to the next fitness level. They are actual Nike Running shoes (Nike Run) so they are made for what I'm doing (I would love to go get fitted for some running shoes someday, but we just can't afford it right now), AND they cute on top of it--black and silver with a pink logo :).

Anyway enough of that. Gotta go jump in the shower and start the day!

Hope you all have a great one! Make it count!

I can do this. I am a star!

day 138 (day 5 / week 20)

I can't believe it's Monday again. My weekends usually go by pretty slowly because I procrastinate with exercise with my hubby around. I went jogging first thing in the morning, so the day's just flew by.

I love this new found strength that I have found with getting outside and making a big effort to jog (although I do power-walk a big portion of the time). I decided today, though, to take it easy, and give my body a rest, to see if it has anything to say about this new high impact exercise (compared to what I have been doing). I did Slim in 6's Slim & 6pack and Slim & Limber, and will probably go for a long walk with Logan today, to see where this road goes to that I have been turning off of for the past 2 days.

Yesterday Ellie mentioned a few things for me to check out in regards to running again, and I am so excited about one in particular--ChiRunning. It's a philosophy that my previous running partner used to talk about a lot, but I never knew the name of. Reading about it yesterday brought a flood of memories back.

ChiRunning.com explains more to give you an idea of what ChiRunning is:

ChiRunning combines the inner focus and flow of T'ai Chi with the power and energy of running to create a revolutionary running form and philosophy that takes the pounding, pain, and potential damage out of the sport of running. The ChiRunning program increases mental clarity and focus, enhances the joy of running, and turns running into a safe and effective lifelong program for health, fitness, and well-being.

I went to youtube and watched a few videos from people that swear by this technique and philosophy and I am excited! I am going to take it one day at a time and not push too hard to avoid injuries. Once I get the form/technique down, and have it down, I will start running really slow, to practice and practice that. Then I will focus on some of the training aspects for a new runner that Ellie also mentioned from CoolRunning.com, and apply ChiRunning to that. There is a whole section just for new runners, including the couch-to-5k running plan.

I feel so blessed that you guys are out there cheering for me and helping me with this goal! I have learned so much through you guys and I wish I could just give you all a hug! I'm just so excited with all of the potential I see, and it's because of you guys and your support (and of course our Saviour!).

I will update my labels to reflect the other exercises I do today. Yesterday I did some general swimming for about 20 minutes, so I am just going to add that to today's labels (it's easier for me).

Hope you all have a great day! Make it count!

I can do this. I am a star!

day 117 (day 5 / week 17)

Today is a (non)rest day.

I got home not too long ago from running all over town, just to hand in 1 application (for an AMR dispatch position--I have NO experience lol). I drove to the other side of town to drop Logan off at my hubby's parent's house, then drove about 10 miles into N. LV, to take a typing test (71wpm, 0 errors--yaay!). After that I hopped back into the car and drove to a different super busy part of town, to drop off the application. Then had to drive the close to 20 miles back to pick Logan at Papa's and then drive back home. (It feels like I'm whining. waah.).

Anyway I got home, put Logan down for a SUPER late nap, and then started to exercise (Turbo Jam's Cardio Party). Like 5 minutes into my workout, I got a phone call from AMR asking me to come in for an interview this Wednesday at 9am. She said they were "squeezing me in" because her boss is impressed with my typing certificate (lol). I told my hubby, then got back to exercising. I only did 10 minutes more, so all together 15 minutes of exercise today. of 43. I am just exhausted, and honestly I am pretty happy with myself for doing 15 minutes.

I'm tired and need a nap. I got up early to exercise, but my mom brought her drama my way again and so I never got a chance. It has drained me and I am cranky. waah. (lol).

Hopefully tomorrow will better.
no.
I KNOW tomorrow will be better.

Hope you guys are well and are getting your exercise in! Your body will thank you in the long run (and so will your kids/family/loved ones!).

I can do this. I am a star.

day 106 (day 1 / week 16)

Thank you for all of your comments on yesterday's post. Inspiration, motivation and support really is a full circle thing. You guys help me and I help you (it's such a blessing to know this)! I am just so grateful and blessed--you guys really don't know!

Today I did the 20 minute workout and Ab Jam (because my workout schedule thingy told me to), but not in that order. Five minutes to the end of the 20 minute workout (I did this one last), I started to feel really icky again, almost nauseous, and I thought, "this feels like the other day when I didn't eat before I exercised, but today I.....oh. I guess I didn't eat this morning, did I?" I was thinking of yesterday morning, when I ate. Such a douche. So I did 15 minutes of the 20 minute workout (that bugs me that I forget).

I stopped using my sculpting gloves, and will bring them back into my workout next week. I think I might have been over training with them because every time I try to use them, I get extremely tired (that's not supposed to happen--exercise should give you energy!).

Today is going to be a super busy day (it's Lyric's 6th birthday), so off to start it! Hope you guys have a wonderful day and a great workout!

We can do this. We are stars!
