Day 59

Today I had a pretty active day at work. They floated me down to the emergency room and so I was able to get in a lot of steps (it was cray-cray). I was able to get in 8k steps of my 10,000 step goal for the day, on a work day, which is pretty amazing! Normally I get in like no more than 3,000 steps on a work day.

I completed my 10,000 steps on the elliptical and watch the rest of an episode on Netflix. I ended the day with 10,200 steps and 15 minutes on the elliptical.

I've been praying about the issues that I'm having with my minutes And God as reason why I got into that job so if he wants me to continue I know that he can fix this problem, that I know that I can't. I really thought I was going to have problems sleeping last night but then I just remembered my favorite scripture Philippians 4:4-7. Versus 6-7 really helped my anxiety:

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Lay your worries at His and He'll take care of the rest.

One day at a time. One choice at a time.

I can do all things in Christ who gives me strength.

Day 270 (day 4 / week 38)

Today I walked on the treadmill.

I think a week or two ago my hubby's grandmother, "Gram," told me that I could take her treadmill home and use it, because she knows that I will actually use it :). I love this thing. It hasn't ever been calibrated so the numbers are very wrong, but it works, and I have a HRM so that's all that I need for what I'm trying to accomplish :). It has an incline and these handles that a lot of the elliptical machines do, to do the cross country ski type movement (really long brain fart...I can't remember what they are called to save my life!). I put it on the highest incline and almost 3 mph (this number can't be right) and just go for the same amount of time that I do when I am walking the streets.

Today I did 33 minutes. When I walk 33 minutes on the streets, I walk a little over 2 miles. The treadmill said I walked 1.08 miles and burned 58 calories. My HRM said I burned 429 calories, which I believe, because my average HR per min was 135 (58 calories in 33 minutes? Pssht!). Anyway I am just so grateful to have the treadmill to use at home. Such a blessing. Now I just have to have my hubby mount the TV on the wall or something so that I don't have to stare at a corner in the room lol. I can probably go for a lot longer if I had something to look at or do. Maybe I will read the book that Gram let me borrow, Be Anxious For Nothing, by Joyce Meyer, the art of casting your cares and resting in God. I love Joyce Meyer. She's awesome. This book is right up my alley because it's basically all about my favorite scripture Phil 4:4-7(;13) and applying it better to my life.

Hope you all have a great Sunday. What kinds of things are you doing to make it count? We all can help give eachother ideas :).

I work tomorrow, so it will be another late post.

I can do this. I am a star.

Day 189 (day 7 / week 27)

Today I walked with the Monkey Boy. We walked a new way that turned out to be 3.50 miles and we did it in just a little over an hour (66 minutes). After a 10 min cool down, I burned a total of 972 calories.

Today is kind of a "blah" day. I'm a little disappointed with a letter that I got from the state of Nevada, telling me that they are disenrolling my son from the Nevada Check Up program because we qualify for Medicaid. I really don't want to apply for Medicaid but you do what you gotta do. My son needs to have medical coverage--this is important and he is my first priority. I just hope that my efforts to find a job pays off soon.

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)

I've just gotta rejoice that God is doing something that I can't see right now (preparing me for something) and continue to pray. If there is one thing that I've learned in my life, it's that God listens when we pray.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Have you noticed how many different colors of green there are in the trees?

Make today count!
