Today I did some strength training. I always talk about doing more, but I just haven't. Sometimes I get into a funk, and I turn my nose up at things when I haven't done them in a while (I know, totally lame). So today I did:
overhead tricep extension (10 lbs) 3 sets / 15 reps (RPE 3-4)
concentration curls (5lbs) 2 sets / 30 reps (RPE 3)
seated leg extensions (straight leg) 1 set / 30 reps (RPE 4-5)
shoulder extensions (5 lbs) 2 sets / 10 reps (RPE 5)
I listened to my RPEs today (ratings of percieved exertion) and did my set number/rep number based off of that. This probably means nothing to most people, but my brain understands it lol. Listening to my RPEs helps me to know how far to push next time.
I am going to try to do these strength exercises a few more times throughout the next week, and then do more sets and/or reps.
Anyway, I wasn't going to post my weight or picture or measurements this month, but who am I kidding? That would bother me at the end of the year and say, "I'm such a douche for not taking a picture at the beginning of October."

My hair looks poofy. Chalk it up to bed head. I used to look forward to doing the monthly pictures, but now they are just becoming a pain in the butt. My hubby hates taking them (gasp!), and it's hard to keep the Monkey Boy and now Pebbles away so we can do it.
Anyway, in September 2009 I lost 7.25 inches and gained 0.4 lbs. The weight gain doesn't bother me because sometimes when I weigh myself when I am working, I weigh 4-6lbs less than I do on my day's off. Today is a day off. I am not worried and I don't really care. I gotta tell you though, I didn't expect to see any differences so I am glad to see a loss in inches. More than last month! My brain doesn't consider work as exercise, although it is, and you all agree it is, and I know it is... but my brain won't accept it. lol. This is TOTALLY proof, but my brain still feels skeptical. How on earth did I lose all of those inches, if hypothetically speaking, all those days that I was working, I wasn't exercising at the same time. Just because I call it "work" and not "exercise" doesn't mean it isn't exercise. Exercise is work after all, isn't? lol. My brain is shaking it's head "no" in contempt.
Anyway, off to play. I work tomorrow, so it will be another late post.
Have a good Saturday and make it count!
I can do this. I am a star.

Oh, yay! YOu are proof positive of what I've been saying for years...the numbers on the scale really don't tell the entire story! I'm so excited for you! Work DOES count. When Superman worked for 7UP/RC Cola he was skinny! He worked his tail off with those cases of soda. As soon as he got a desk job, the pounds just jumped on him! Oh, I am soooo proud of you!
P.S. If I did the math right (always questionable), you've lost 69.75 inches!!!!!
You look so good! I look forward to this post every month! The inch count is awesome. Work TOTALLY counts as exercise! Way to go, you are such an inspiration!
Really fantastic, I'm so pleased for you! Who cares about the weight - I'm so happy for you that you bother with the measurements! Enjoy your day off!
Wow, you've done really well. Congrats to you! You look fantastic. Rock on!
